Denzlingen evolved over the course of centuries along the river Glotterbach. The importance of water for residential development can still be seen today in the elongated townscape. In the beginning agriculture and mills dominated the employment structure, but the linkage to train traffic in 1845 brought significant changes. Within the past 50 years the village has developed rapidly. Some key features are new resident companies of the middle class, a significant extension of the settlement area and a tripling of the population
